We have stayed at La Maison des Consuls on previous visits to Mirepoix and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience., hence the reason we keep returning. The building itself is an Historic Monument built originally in 1289 and much of the present structure dates from 1664. The rooms are furnished with antique furniture, each room in its own style. with a beautiful bathroom. We have stayed in a number of the rooms which are all very comfortable and well equipt. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room on the ground floor or on the terrace facing the famous Mirepoix square. The staff are all very courteous and helpful. M Bernard the proprietor is great, very welcoming and concerned for the comfort of his guests. We love the Parisian breakfast and during the day sandwiches and platers of meats and cheeses are available, but be aware they are not small. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant and nearby Restaurant St Maurice is very good with the Restaurant L'Autre Jardin just behind the hotel recommended for that special meal. Not the hotel to stay at if you have mobility problems as there is no lift and the room are all reached by stairs, but apart from that caveat we would recommend La Maison des Consuls without any hesitation. We love it and we love M Bernard and his team.

This was our third (or fourth?) stay in the Consuls in a period of some 15 years. The Consuls is a beautiful, classic old building on the main square of Mirepoix. Our room ('Marquis': top room) was well appointed, comfortable, with a great view over the square and the cathedral. Breakfast (we chose Parisian) was generous, with fresh bread and croissants, delicious freshly pressed orange juice, and very good coffee. The relaxed atmosphere of the hotel and its general setting make it a perfect base for exploring Mirepoix and its surroundings. Highly recommended.

The hotel was lovely & was right in the center looking down upon the historic square & merry-go-round! The sheets & bed were very comfortable & the room was a nice size. I was particularly appreciative of the jacuzzi style tub after we had spent the day hiking. For breakfast, the restaurant had multiple places to sit, we preferred the inner courtyard with interesting photos and objects, the coffee drinks were excellent with the pastries with confits and the fresh made orange juice an extra delight. Our hosts were the best!

The hotel is fantastic! Right up front it’s a bit hard to find. Park your car at the church, cross the square and it’s about half way up. Bernard, the owner spoke perfect English and took us to the parking garage. Lovely room with view of church and square definitely upgrade if possible. We were there for the famous Monday market. That morning we woke up to the square etc full of 100 stalls, didn’t hear any of the work it must have taken to set them up. Would recommend!!

The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy however we had asked for a twin room which was confirmed by the hotel but when we got to the hotel there were no twin rooms available which was a little annoying to say the least. However the location was superb right in the square with beautiful buildings all around us. Our room looked straight out into the square. Fabulous.
